Uncovering Your French Heritage with Expertise and Heart
Uncovering Your French Heritage
Welcome! I’m Maylis Curie, a professional genealogist based just outside Paris.
A dual French-American citizen with more than two decades of experience living in the US and the UK, I offer fully bilingual genealogy services tailored to individuals and international professionals requiring trusted on-site archival research in the Paris area and selected other areas.
I trace family lineages by combining technical expertise (such as 16th- to 19th-century paleography) with a deep passion for visual context. By integrating old maps, period photos, and local history into my work, I want to to recreate the daily lives and environments of your ancestors.
Whether untangling complex brickwalls or conducting targeted record lookups across French archives, I deliver rigorous, document-backed research that transforms standard family trees into vivid historical journeys.
An Archival Detective Approach
I approach genealogy like a detective solving a mystery. Where traditional searches hit a wall, I bring creative, solution-driven thinking to resolve complex cases.
With a Ph.D. in Art History and advanced training in 16th- and 17th-century French paleography, I can decipher centuries-old handwritten manuscripts, notary records, and archival documents.
Beyond dates and names, I focus on the rich context of your ancestors' lives; hunting down vintage photographs, historical maps, and details of the places they lived to make their story tangible.
